    eeew. 18RG tractor motor

um, another option here is to use the 3TGTEU alternator. that has an integrated reg in it which is an easy fit.

karl, i read up on this some time ago but to get the charge light to work in the dash don't you have to plumb in a diode or something so that the charge light will work?

This is great! I just fitted one to my 3T-GTE, I modified the bracket enough that the standard belt fitted, and the adjustment arm from the falcon with some modification is the correct length.
    Thanx Man!

Whats the difference between all 3? Is it size or different amperage?

Thanks Karl, Great read. I will be undertaking this shortly along with a full painless(i doubt it) rewire.

Really?? Where did you get this information?? after 3 years at a ford wrecker i can tell you that there definitely was different alternators for EAs... one was based on the XF 65A alternator, one was the same as the EB except with different belt requirement (85A as used by the Witzl), not sure about the third, could have been on the 3.3Ltr motor (never came across an EA with the infamous 3.3Ltr).

When i was hunting for my one, i found 65A, 70A and 85A alternators in the EA/EEB falcooons.

I didn't notice a different belt type when looking - i was paying more attention to the current rating, and only looked at the belt when i found the one I wanted.

    They were definitely different sizes!
