Default mx83 big brake upgrade woes

ok so i did the BA falcon disks and the skyline calipers upgrade to my cressida and now ive got a nasty wobble on my steering wheel. The wobble goes away when i brake though? and ive had the discs machined so what the hell could it be?

sounds like the rotors are not sitting flush with the hubs

yeah........... If the rotors are not central to the hubs you gonna get wobbles. The wheel studs are not designed to maintain the rotor to the hub thats the job of the hub its self.

If its putting all its force onto the wheel studs they may fail

Do you have a dial gauge? spin the rotor with the dial gauge set up and see how much movement your have

Also check to see if all ya wheel weights are still there

Silly question.......did you use a hubcentric spacer, to locate the disc on the hub?

are the discs a tight fit on the hubcentric rings? are the back of the rings machined to clear the fillet where the disc face meets the locator face? Do the discs sit perfectly flat on the hub?

discs have been machined. some people have suggested it may need a wheel balance, i think its very odd that it needs a wheel balance RIGHT after i do a brake upgrade

Have you checked that the wheel bearings have preload? Silly and basic question i know but sometimes the simple things tend to catch you out, sometimes with new wheel bearings they will 'wear in' and need readjusting soon after fitment.
