    Default Seat belt recoil

Hey is there any way to get the recoil on a seatbelt to tighten up again? like tightening a spring or something?

i have just had to put another one in because mine was frayed, but the one i got is a bit loose at the end, still locks and everything just doesn't go all the way back in unless you help it.

    any ideas?

    thanks

they're not really designed to be pulled apart but you can tighten up a spring that controls the retraction.

have just done this to my UCF11

I've done this before on some of my older Subarus.

You say you got a spare out of the car?
Happy to have a look at it sometime to see what can be done with it.
They are not supposed to be pulled apart, but that's not saying that they can't be successfully.

old one is gone now, so they need to be fully taken apart? i one i just put in had plastic screw looking things on the side thought they might have tightened it or something.

    will get some pics

I've never looked too hard at a toyota belt before, so I'm not 100% sure.

the only reason im worried is have to go to a blue slip station to clear my defects and i don't want them to fail me on it. unless you know a "good" blue slip place?
