yeh toned down on some of the avatars.. and the un-needed posting of "funny" thing swithin technical briefs..

i hate seeing a good technical question being asked then the next post has little relevance but is just made up to be funny...

the technical questions are asked by people (usually) in trouble and needing help or advice and they dont need a ridiculous answer that doesnt help them....

Find solace, my friend, for no one is going to remove the funnies or make the site a clinical and sterile wonderland of dry technical commentary.

Mirth, open discussions, with people interacting are all a part of what we try to achieve, and of course (and most importantly) is to supply an endless amount of free and accurate technical knowledge.

It is just that over time the boundaries of what we aim for get a little ragged and blurred, so we're just trimming it back to how we want. Such trimming is normal and, no doubt, will happen again in the future. It is the nature of the beast.

We certainly hope OC comes back. We all have a soft spot for his knowledge, level-head and his desire to keep the forums family friendly and as a shining beacon for the Toymods Car Club. Matter of fact, I think I'll bake a cake, in the shape of a KE10, for when he makes his triumphant return.

Hey-sanna... ho-sanna.. sanna.. sanna.. hi... Hey OC.. OC, your're alright by me.. senna-ho.. senna-hey.. senna-hi <some of you older folk may know the song I used>

Yeah, I think that draws a fair boundary.

It seems we're all pretty aligned in what is acceptable and not, which is great! More than happy with the changes/cleanups.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I'd never really thought about the avatars, but blatent boobs/bikini pics does make it tough to read at work without being obvious. There is something about those pictures that draws your bosses eyes at your screen

    ^^what he said^^

what can we deem is appropriate though when it comes to avatars?

bit of a clean up wont hurt, i think we are capable of keeping the humour and staying technical when needed.

we dont want this place ending up like ns..*shudders*

I think you have missed the point a little 4DaDrift.

The Forums have gotten WAY out of hand with the Drunken accomplisment stories and the smut being posted in certain threads. This is NOT a good look for a club that is working it's butt off to be taken seriously as a Club of car enthusiasts rather then look like a bunch of teenage wannabe's of some of the other well known forums.

These forums NEED to be accessable by everyone that wants to come to them, that includes the girls on this site... Yes there are not many of us, but there is a couple and they are just as much a part of Toymods as everyone else.

The single guys will still have their place and are always welcome,The events and social outings all allowing everyone to join in the fun., There is NEVER going to be a time where your excluded if your not a family man/woman.

Thats what she said No I 100% agree I may be silent (at times) but I have been around for a bit now and its about time toymods cleans up their act and starts acting like a club rather then "teens tree house group" as I put it so lightly earlier on in the year I'm impressed! Now for that membership :S

Who deleted the Abortion- Brings out the kid in you motivational pic...

i can understand getting rid of porn, but that pic was funny, wasnt blatently offensive or anything...

are we going to start removing every single thing that 1 or 2 people may get offended by?

or are we left at the mercy of what one particular moderator finds offensive?

i mean, unless you have had an abortion, using a coathanger... how is it offensive?

    please explain..

but overall, i think its a great idea..
