If in doubt, drift her out! Steer from the rear! less traction, more action! simple!

the intercooler.... its too big to be put anywhere else. the end tanks flare out and at the top there is about 5mm clearance between the end tank and the renforcement bars..

    Fair enough

When I did mine I found the limiting factor to be the outlets of the intercooler pipes and the lower rails at the front....

Maybe it's just the pic but it looks like your about an inch off that with your mounting?

From memory if you are keeping the two points it needs to be a bit lower.
If you remove them you can get it higher.

Yeah ditch the tow points for sure.

Given the long nose of the MA61 I found myself being very careful not to scrape mine!

there aint much room at all. i had to remove the tow point on the passenger side to allow the pipes to connect without fouling

and the cooler looks like its on an angle in this pic but once i built the frame for the cooler she is strait up and down

    the frame for the cooler.

too true. i dont have any pics of the cooler behind the bar but the very bottom core just pokes out the bottom of the bar. going to by a cressy front lip to help with that. in saying that when the car comes back from the sparky i might look into getting it to sit higher. the only prob with that is the air flow over the top of the cooler is restricted by the bar and reinforcement. would be great if i could get more exposure in that area, but again it means cutting and welding, sticky tape and staples etc etc...

FYI, I just looked at pics of my old 7MA61-T and I removed the two tow/tiedown points to make the intercooler fit better.
I also took a little bit out of the bonnet latch support bracket to enable pushing the IC up further (while keeping it vertical).

    It was a 600x300x75 cooler.

Assuming you don't want to drift, just get a truetrak centre and be done with it.
