Perhaps since it's an ECU you're looking at they assume you don't need to know there's an 'E' on the end as it should be obvious
yeah i was a lil worried at first. i had a few stuff arounds trying to get a complete loom(and correct for that matter) id rather double check things as i go so that im not having to undo anything i have done. measure twice, cut once i think the saying is lol

be keeping my eye on this one!
Whats the go with engine mounts to slot the 1j in a 61?
Looks a straight body, should turn out a nice car and go well, thought about a taller diff?
you make a set of these: wilbo's engine mountsOriginally Posted by CELICASUPRA7M
Consult with your engineer. Some engineers are fussy if the mounts look "Homemade".Originally Posted by thechuckster

You are doing well with your engine conversion.

havent really thought that far but its on the cards..Originally Posted by Crambo
motor still isnt in i finally got my hands on a front sump setup and oh... my.... god...
its was horrid... the entire sump was under 1" of some of the nastiest black goo/gunk(oil) ive ever seen come out of a motor.
now i only got the sump, id hate to see the internals of the motor it came off, i scraped some of the gunk out with a stick and left it hanging upside down in the garage and 2 days later... the gunk was still attached to the stick
i have to by a new oil pickup coz the one i got is sealed shut by the gunk buildup, took the main plate(the alloy part) to neal bates auto to get it professionaly cleaned... spent 3 days in there funky cleaning machine... got most of it but still not perfect..
any thought on how to remove the last of it??
oven cleaner and elbow grease
sand blasting would do it but i would go and get it nickle plated as that process would clean it
mat
sand blasting might be abit harsh on the ally, maybey soda blasting would be better?
dood, i had a similar problem when i bought my engine.
Best way to clean it is crc gasket stripper (weird i know but works well LOL)
Spray and then scrub with old toothbrush.
Comes up pretty clean.

Blasting of any sort is a little harsh just to clean sludge off...

it looks like its almost baked on so a bit of harnesh might be what it needs. if you cant scrape it with your nail i would get it blasted.

tried the oven cleaner... no go... might try the gasket stripper next... now i need an old tooth brush lol all that is left is hard baked on crap... all the sludge is gone its just the stubborn stuff i need to get rid of. until its pretty much "brand new" it aint goin anywhere near the motor..
get some caustic soda
cheers mat
