    Default Pink Slip Help

I have been asked on a number of occasions now where you can still get a manual pink slip for Historic Registration as most places only have the online version which is not suitable. Anywhere that does inspections for Rally cars shoudl be able to help you out as they too need a manual pink slip.

The guys at SAS can of course help you out.

so we got a letter with the Historic rego form that says a safety inspection report (pink slip) is only required if the club is less than 2 years old... but if more than 2 years old, the roadworthiness can be signed off by the club?

how does Toymods status sit with relation to that? not having to actually do pink slips might be a bit of a bonus for historic (it does say that responsibility for roadworthiness rests with the vehicle operator at all times, rather than the club)

    Hi,

To be safe Toymods requires a pink slip for historic rego.

Some Clubs, especially those that have the real old 1920-30's vehicles, often do not use pink slips, but that's 'cos no one (other than themselves) would know anything about them, and applying current RTA pink slip regulations to them would be pointless.

For our historic vehicles, however, the pink slip is valid and can be applied to our vehicles.

    Hope this addressed your question.

really good, considering it hasn't been driven for a couple of years. lots of curious looks at the historic plates.
    Was only around local backstreets.
I think the car needs the optional disc brakes from that era, instead of drum fronts, but car still stops.

My mechanic guarantees that even though he does an online pink slip that the new paper version he gives me will suffice for the RTA for Historic rego as he does them for another customer that has historic plates on some Triumphs for another car club.

    Cheers, Greg.

    Hi,

All mechanics should be able to do manual slips. They need to have the book with them in case of technical issues with connecting to the on-line systems.

Having just put my KE20 on Historics, I was freaking a bit at first because after first getting an online slip and then talking to the RTA who reckoned it wouldn't be any good for them as it needed to show the VIN and I needed the old fashioned hand written pink slip, I fronted at the RTA office today armed with the online pink slip and ready for an argument, as I had the current rego paper with me and I couldn't see why all that wouldn't be enough, I was very happy when they registered it and didn't even look at the pink slip.

    Hi,

You were on normal plates before?

The electronic pink slip works for normal plates but not conditional plates, so next time you register the car it will need a hand written pink slip. This is because they have to enter the plate, and as the plate will now be a conditional one (historic), the computer says "Plate not found". We tried it when I got The 88 re-registered this week.
