    Default cos of a full rebuild on a 3rzfe?

    Hey all,
    couple of quick questions as im looking at getting myself a later model ute

    ute in question is 1998 3rzfe 2wd hilux done 280 odd km, and has fried a valve

    How much would it cost to fully rebuild the motor? this is only parts, as ill do the work myself. so new rings, bearings, hone etc etc

    also, my yn57 has a lsd and supra discs, does anyone know if i could take the whole thing out and put it in the rzn149 or?

    thanks guys

    Check the 3RZ thread mate

    As for anything tho, it depends what you want

    $1k -> $5k would be ballpark figures

    as a ballpark, main bearings are about $100-$120, rods are $80-$100, Full gasket kits are anywhere from $300-$600. Valves are generally $20 each. Rings should be around $100
    4 Cylinder head surface grind about $60. Bottle brush hone $50. Acid dip and clean about $100.

    It all adds up.

    These are just ballpark figures however, Most likely be cheaper if you know someone!

    If it is only a "fried valve" why not just get the cylinder head reco'd

    Like they said...just do the head!

    My son and I both have 3rz Hilux's, both with around 250,000 on them. Neither one uses oil and both start and run perfectly.

    I'd be dissapointed if I can't get at least 350,000km before I have to put a spanner on them.

    Remember.....they're Toyota's...not Fords

    I couldn't get more than 200,000kms out of them, though that was running on gas
