    Default Cars from Japan

    Hi
Is there anyone here who regularly brings in cars from Japan?
Just looking for a rough cost for times such as these!

you could buy a rusty celica in Aus for less (and that car IS rusty.. look at the front of bonnet and strut towers). a good celica would be 1-1.5 milion yen.
    as a guess
1-2k for shipping, maybe $500 or so for fees in japan, then fees for your aussie agent
stamp duty and GST in Aus?
    customs and cleaning fees etc.
maybe another 1k for compliance or so...

so if it sells for $3000, say $7500 (worst case) ish landed in aus would still be cheap for a genuine GTV.....if its genuine,

would want more pics/info then the add delivers also!

it would suck to have to replace every panel, rebuild motor and clen out all the crap, and rust cut it for that price tho

There are plenty of cars available in Japan if you know where to look.

I suspect that a genuine GTV like this (perhaps?) might be a little more difficult? But still possible...

    Just checking!

Hey Noof, +rep for this thread, I've been thinking the same thing. Not only cars but parts as well.
I've been checking Yahoo Japan Auctions via Import Monster but their additional costs seem a bit high.
If only I could read/speak Japanese.

you also need an address in japan for things to be sent to.
you need to pay monthly fee for yahoo premium to bid over 5000yen
you need to be able to make contact with and reply to japanese sellers within 24hrs
and you need to be able to pay them in yen within 24hrs or so.

there is a reason they have to charge... they have a dude in japan doing the hard yards
as well, being a business, they need to pay GST etc (if based in Aus)...
