Yes 4K, and before you continue taking the piss, see below:

The original price was 16,000 ono this has now been dropped to 12,500 ono as its my brothers car and he is no longer in the country.

Its FAR from stock, no rust in sight actually.

What we're talking about is a Fast Fours featured 11 sec turbo (on full time LPG) TA22 completely shaved with 18" three piece simmons etc, etc.

This is the car in question:

I didn't see anyone get in trouble for it, and he blatantly said "Hey, I know the rules, but hey who cares"
And I don't see a $750 engine being out of reach, yes they normally sell for a lot more, yes it'd need other bits, but the fact remains, he has done exactly what this member wants to, yet didn't get in trouble for it. And you all claim "If you let one, you have to let them all"

So really, you should now let them all...
Sometimes shit falls through the cracks and we don't see it. There are only a few mods and we cannot search all the forums all the time so some things do slip through. We also depend on others that see such infractions to PM us so we can go and check it out.

That thread is too old now, but if I had of seen it when it was started I would of canned it.

The only thing that should be done is for people (if they are unsure and BEFORE they post) to read the mother-head rules so they know what they can and cannot post, and where they can post.

And the rules are not in place to be debated, they are there to be adhered too.

unfortanaly im from victoria, home of the most pedantic, paranoid, idiotic roadworthy testers in the country.

they want an (victorian) engineers certificate just for a simple brake upgrade even with oe 30kw 2t engine. its absolutly ridiculous.

any mod plate thats not victorian is not accepted. different adr's for different states.
i would have to pay from $1000 upwards, and that if the engineer was happy with the mods.

all that said the yours is still a bargain, i've seen shit ta22s go for more than $7000 on egay............good luck with the sale.............

    fine

if you change the ratio of piston areas, front to back, as well as disc diameter, you might make your car dangerous. and while it is your life on the line, it is also the lives of other road users in danger..

ie, you need to stop quick cos you didn7t see a red light.. then swign the arse of th ecar into oncoming traffic.

brake conversions SHOULD be engineered, because not everyone is a "backyard master" and you may be surprised what kind of shit some people think is acceptable

That's true. Unfortunately TA22's and older Toyota's seem to find more trouble than most too without looking for it.

NSW has a very good guide of what you can and can't change with out an eng cert...

As to the whole "different ADR per state" no, the ADRs are EXACTLY the same per state, just that some states put extra regulations on top of that.
ADR = Australian Design Rule = NATIONAL.
