    Default Oil filter sandwich plate

    hey,
got some new gauges and i have an oil pressure gauge and an oil temp one, now there is a place to put 1 just not the other so i am looking at getting one of the sandwich plates that go under the oil filter.

    like this

Now has anyone used one of these and is there any difference between a cheap one and an expensive one??

    thanks

I run an ebay spec sandwich plate and it works fine, fittings were all good, seal is good, sealing surfaces are good, threads were all good (better than some US made gear I've had).

Mine runs a different seal to the one in the pic you've posted though, mine uses a seal that looks the same as an oil filter o-ring and it sits in a reciever groove on the sandwich plate.

Had it for over a year with zero leaks or weeping.

a normal O-ring with receivr groove would be better, but that setup should seal ok.

seems to have two grooves there anyway, and while not ideal for a normal o-ring, you might be able to use one there..

I also have an Ebay one with no issues. Speco make one for $99 if you want to lash out, but it looks the same.

If its going into a Supra I would assume that you need the 3/4UNF16 version like I did on the Soarer.
