how much is the public liability insurance? and can only 1 person take it out??

It is not so much 1 or a group of people taking it out - it is more that companies wont do it for a one off event for someone with no experience. If anyone knows more abaout it and could give some pointers on organising it, i'd be happy to look in to it....but i am also not willing to put my neck on the line if i take out 30 guys and their cars.....kind of risky!

If anyone knows more about it than my limited knowledge, please post and ill follow up

There is a peice of software, its a free download and i've been using it a bit for 0-100 etc, its pretty cool and it uses the GPS off your phone...

I've given it to fatboy13, so hopefully he remembers what its called, but i'll get the name off jack again, otherwise if he sees this hopefuly he can let you's know!

how quick do u go through a set of street tires on these track days? Just curious to know if i need to start saving for new tires.

depends how you drive...just aslong as your tyres are ok at the begining of the day....you will be fine.

jase i run falken RT215 semis on front, hankook RS2's on the rear....



is there any chance of us organising a separate 'drift' parctice session? as i really wanna give it a crack!

blake i have made inquiries about drift and another thing the driving solutions guys run, ill post when they get back to me with pricing and some more details

as for timing - the reason most "track days" have no timing is due to the insurance that covers them - something along the lines of - if it has timing it then falls under a cams event and needs licensing or something like that. So you'll find it hard to find track days around the 200-300 mark with timing - anyone know a bit more than me????
But yeah, you can always time things unofficially

I'll be keen for EC, might have a month preference once i confirm our 2nd wakefield date... Oh and not really late june and july as i'll be away. And our wakefield is likely to be june, so i'll say august.

RaceChrono is the one i was thinking. It works pretty darn well if you ask me, though i havent compared it to anything else yet, will try at wsid when i go next!
