Headroom will be very close around 2cm from some quick meassuring I did but we will see in about two hours when we test fit the engine.

We use a Mast Motorsport ECU on the LS3 but you can use any standard ECU from the GTO, Corvette and so on because they are free programmable through HP Tuners and everything not needed can be deleted. We went with the MAST route because we also bought the wiring loom from them and they make a terrific product with a perfect Windows software and some nice features as seperate gauge drivers, CAN bus gauge support, MAF elimination and so on.

If its just a hall effect sensor on the ABS rear sensor I think we should be able to find a electric device that will convert our transmission speed signals into the right signals for the ABS.

You could always get a ring put on the tailshaft and mount a sensor off the back to the box. Just do it do youve got the right number of teeth etc.

The only problem we have currently is that we need to get around 10mm deeper with the engine because of the size of the bellhousing. But the front of the sump is hitting this damn steering. But our pan is already quite shallow so we are thinking about moving the steering rack.

moving the rack sounds like a lot of work for the problem your having

i would mod the sump and take a hammer to the firewall or trans tunnel if thats what is fouling on the bellhousing

    winged sump?

We use an FBody sump which is already quite shallow at the front there isnt much room we could get with modifying it or going with a aftermarket pan. We already took the big hammer to the firewill which allowed us to move the engine this far back. We just need a little more room so the engine is flat and not tilted.

    Very nice work.
I am also impressed that your english is better than most under 25 year old Australians. At least in the fact that you can write a coherent sentence.

    Where in Germany is Leipheim?

Thanks for that As a matter of fact I'm 25 and pretty fluent in english through my job and the worldwideweb.

Leipheim is in south german between stuttgart and munich.

A little more progress on the car:

    - we finished the fuel system with a JZA80 EU Spec Fuel pump, Aeromotive regulator and all AN6 lines with fittings for it.

    - we moved the steering 2cm deeper and a little bit forward

Tomorrow we will test fit the engine again it should be a completly perfect fit now. In the process we dismanteld the whole front suspension and will overhaul it completly with new bushings, arms and everything after the sandblasting and coating process.

Whats the japanese car scene like in Germany?

Is it cheaper or more expensive to modify jap cars compared to BMW's/Audi's/Merc's?
