    Default Wolf V500 Information resources

I don't know if it is because it is a newer ECU or a specific strategy by Wolf EMS, but
there seems to be little information available on how to configure the wolf V500s.

A bit of Googling and I found the www.hybridz.com site which has the most
comprehensive information around and they have been more than happy to answer my
questions so far. They seem like a similar minded community, modifying the old datsun
Z series cars, even some with 1j, 2j and 1UZs

I wanted to provide the link in here for anybody else looking to play with the v500 and also
to ask people to contribute their own information.

Maybe I should know this information or be happy just plugging stuff in and fooling
around, but the engineering side of me likes to get all the information first before blowing
    up my ECU

Below is a cut on past guide to configuring one of the outputs. I had sort of already figured out this would be the way to do it, but it is nice to get somebody else to confirm that as well.

If your asking about aux. channel output amperage, the simple answer is... not enough to
    power a pump.

Amperage breakdown per channel (yes, you can reassign ignition and injection channels
    to aux. duty)

Injector channels.... 10.2A peek w/2A hold
    Ignition.... 2.2A
    LS1 & LS2.... 2.2A
    LS3.... 3A
    LS4 through LS7.... 1A
    All HL channels.... 1A

More than enough for automotive relay's (typically ~.250A), but not enough to direct drive
    a pump.

Yes. Or you can use one of the HL channels and pull it high. Its up to you.

    Here's an example...

First, determine which channel you want to use and wire it to a relay. Lets use Aux LS1

Second, go to CONTROL/GENERAL PURPOSE OUTPUTS/GENERAL PURPOSE
OUTPUT 1, assign a name (not mandatory, just for reference), turn the activation to "On",
and select the aux. channel you wish to control.

Third, go to CONTROL/GENERAL PURPOSE OUTPUTS/GENERAL PURPOSE OUTPUT
1/GPO SWITCH POINT A, select Activation By: Boost (more on that in a bit), Switch
Point: 2.4 PSI, Hysteresis: 1 PSI (boost must drop 1 PSI from the switch point, before
pump will switch off, 1.4 PSI in this case), Output Polarity: normal. This means pin is off
below the set threshold and on above it. Opposite polarity would turn the pin on below the
switch point, and off above it.

Back to Activated By... you can activate an output based on many different things. For
example... RPM, engine temp, engine run time, battery voltage, any other Aux. channel,
vehicle speed, throttle position, etc, etc, etc.

    Hope this helps.

    Very happy with mine.

Found wolf EMS pretty helpful in reconfiguring a few bits, such as the external map sensor in to pre intercooler temp.

So I can measure pre and post temp and PSI now with the data logging though not at the same time.

With the actuall product I have been very impressed, it is the support I'm dissapointed about. Wolf EMS haven't answered any of my emails except for sending they base configuration file.

Maybe I have been asking noob questions, but if there was just some basic information published I wouldn't have to.

I have an advantage there they are 5 min drive away, turning up on the door works

Have you down loaded and watched all the support Videos?

I can't recall what they did and did not include.

Of the videos that work, (some don't run) they are pretty basic descriptions of where things are. Which has got me started, but it still leaves a few questions. I guess their assuming that the configuration is only being done by authorised workshops so they don't want to go into detail for the general backyard modifier.

I also tried to suggest to them that some of their videos weren't working properly but they didn't respond and they haven't updated them at all.

I bought V500 to use on my setup, ended up selling it for this reason.
Just wasn't happy with their support. Shame seamed like it could have been a great product.

I have used a few V500's, one on a 3SGTE MR2. Great ecu and very capable but support is limited(although we did get support by ringing direct). The biggest problem with it is that nothing is in plain english like most other ecu's. It's all numerical choices but there is nowhere that tells you what the choices are. They need to rewrite the software to allow plain english selection of options.

We will always use a haltech instead for these reasons(in that price range). The tuner network is crap too.
