    Default A340 wiring diagrams

Ok, I have a home made shift box in the car and it was or still is wired up to a GA70 A340 box (stops at the plugs) and I now have a JZZ30 A340 box in the car that doesnt have any plugs so i just chopped it. Now im not the biggest fan of wiring jobs but ill give it a go if I can find the right info on these boxes. If anyone wants to come and do it for me and save me from a headache your quite welcome, there will be plenty of beer and cash just lying around doing nothing for you to take advantage of.

ok ive noticed that the main shifter plug is numbered 1 - 10, its off a jzz30 soarer, would anyone know whats what? like gear 1,2,3? overdrive and convertor lock up?

Also the two seperate plugs that are on either side of the auto, does anyone know what they are for? will i need them for the shift box?

The ones on the side you'll find are speed related.. So either for the speedo in the dash and also if the ecu needs to know speed.

In the other big plug the black and black/white is the inhibitor.
Not sure of the rest sorry.

Front sensor is speed... it doesn't go to the dash tho on JZZ30

    Rear not sure

The plug with 10pins is actually the auto position switch, this is used to tell the control ECU where the shift lever is (The engine ECU has L, 2, D, R pins on it that come via this switch) ... it doesn't have the wiring for the solenoids...the wiring for the solenoid should be on another quite large plug...

I have this pinout I traced for JZS147 Aristo A340E which looks like it is the same... you can test it with a mutlimeter anyway

You can do it yourself with a multimeter

The bigger two pins are the P/N Switch....

One of the others will be common, and will connect to another wire for each gear...!

For the shifting of gears you use the 3 wires coming out of that 3 pin plug at the rear left of the box . 3 wires = 3 solonoids , S1,S2,S3 , very easy for you.

    As others said, selector switch.
Depends how your shift box works - if it relies on a switch telling it which gear it's in, then yes, you will need this one.

Do this to work out what is what
