    Default Quick Immobiliser wiring help

hey guys... thought I would save myself some money and install an immobiliser myself as I'm usually pretty good with basic car wiring..

Here's the wiring diagram supplied with the unit

The car in question is a little 1.5lt carby 1988 Excel bunky... (hence the reason I dont wanna spend money when not necessary)

All the wires I have circled above I have connected - to what I assume are the right wires coming off the ignition.

The car turns over, but does not start. Doesnt matter if I arm or disarm the immobiliser with the remote, I still get the same result... car just turns over, but does not fire.

So obviously I've done something wrong, or connected to the wrong wires?
nothing is permanent yet, as I knew I'd get something wrong being my first immobiliser install.

Can any of the wiring experts on the forum detail the above instructions any more so I can see where I've gone wrong..??

    cheers

    Damo,

if it still turns over with the immobiliser armed...there is obviously some funky wiring going on. (Assuming you wanted to immobolise the starter)

Bridge the circuits that you cut (i.e. connect 1 and 3 together and 4 and 6 together in the diagram) make sure it starts/runs. (if it doesnt - you will need to go through your wiring and find out why)

unbridge those circuits and disconnect the wiring from the immoboliser. then see if it starts/runs. (it shouldn't turn over/run) if it still turns over/runs you haven't cut the right wires.

    The grounds are straight forward,
the battery +12v needs to be constant 12v.
Ignition (10) needs to be 12V with ignition (make sure this isn't immobolised)

Cut the wire that goes to the starter. One side of the cut goes to (1) the other side goes to (3)

Similarly for the other cut circuit.

You've only cut 2 wires? One for the starter, one for something else (usually some form of ignition).

Every other wire is just tee'd in?

ie, cut starter wire, connect wires 1 and 3 to cut ends.
cut ignition wire, connect wires 4 and 6 to cut ends.
tee in wires 10 and 12 (making sure 10 is connected upstream of the cut - if you'd cut ignition for your second thingo)
    earth other wires.

If you've done all that, then should be good.

Turn key on, disable immob, check for ignition voltage around the engine bay (coil for starters), all dash lights work, etc.

Yeah boys.. I only cut 2 wires to the ignition... unless I have the starter / fuel pump wires around the wrong way?

But I think the way I wired it up should be right. Let me know if you can see anything obvious above?

This car did have a touch key immob previously fitted - but it wasnt working when I got the car, someone along the line has disconnected and bodged up the wiring to get it going again. So maybe this has somethin to do with it?

having wiring diagram today helped heaps - and a quick phone call to CrUZida for some advice and finally managed to suss out and get the immob working how it should be.

    Take that Alberts Car Stereo!...
got quoted $169 for a touch key immob install.
my remote immob cost $60 delivered from eBay and an afternoon of playing with wiring under the dash. Money saved! w00t!
