Default Toymods Forum Closing for Relocation

The Toymods Forum will be going offline for a short time (possibly up to a day or two) some time over the next week or so.

The Forums are finally scheduled to be moved to our new Server

The disruption will be kept to a minimum but however long its offline for - The wait will be worth it

    Oh noes!

But at the same time Oh Yes!

I think the closure might lead to a couple of productive days at work for some people

Will profiles, PMs etc be transferred across, or will it be like the last change where everything was a matter of starting fresh??

Everything will be being moved over as is all your PM's etc should stay exactly where they are.

Once its all up and runningon the new server we can start the process of actually upgrading the forums to the current version and making a whole list of site improvements we have been waiting to do.

Yes you heard it we're getting moved off to our big fat account with Media Temple (a few of you might know them).

    Power to you all.

Forums might drop off for a day or so, but we're moving all the data, databases, files.... everything. Copies will be retained on old server to make sure things are safe. I don't expect any lost data.

Process might start as early as tomorrow, but might be Thurs, done by end of week? It's depending on availability for Sam who's managing the technical back-end server action.

Rod said I had to say something more technical than he did - but he pretty much summed it up, so I choose to say "DNS" and "Zone File".

If you're seeing this, then you're running on the new server.

If anyone finds something playing up, let me know.
