bolt pattern and bellhousing will bolt straight up, the dowles are in correct position but a few of the bolt holes while they line up need threading for the bolt as the bolt will come from the opposite side,

the transfer case and block will need grinding to allow enough clearence and thats pretty much it.......

the clutch is identical between the 3vz and the 3sgte, even exedy have them with the same partnumber.....

so while bolting up has a little bit of messing around, the cluth is identical so will all fit together and work a treat, as long as it can hold on with the turbo v6...........

i will update my gt4 thread with pics and info as it all happens, so keep an eye out for it,

well well, been such a long time and thanks to ph@_man for bringing me back,

so whats to update on the celica......
well nearly 2 years on and it is still going strong, no major issues, spun a big end bearing, so rebuilt bottom end, bore and hone, whiteline rear strut brace,

needs a new paint job, but outside of that it has been the best conversion, it was relatively easy no major drama, and has been loads of fun to drive.....

need to upgrade the 20+ yr old suspension, and interior,
though it has been very neglected since I got my brand new gt86 in dec '12

yeah, ditto for the welcome back.
Just going through the thread to check out how you did the engine mount.
Doing an engine conversion on my Excel (would love to do a Tiburon V6 with 6 speed box, but they're ridiculously expensive), and have realised how much overkill I was going to go.

from what I have read from when I had my excel..... the lantra discs are a good swap....... I got a lantra sitting in my yard atm

mounts don't need to be hectic I just trolled wreckers for something that I could work with and went from there.....
so as you can see got v6 mazda 6 rear mount, and just bolted up a adapter plate, that way still got strong rubber mount and fits easy enough to remove if needed

I've already fitted the steering knuckles from the Elantra, which then allowed me to use Mitsubishi FTO Mivec front calipers (or Magna V6 Verada/Mirage RS/EVO III) & EVO III rotors (cos 4 stud, not 5). I need 15" wheels to clear the front brakes.
FTO/EVO III/Mirage/Proton Satria GTi master cylinder bolts to Excel booster.
Rear uses Excel hubs still, but Elantra rear rotors (as same as FTO rotors but with centre bore that is correct for Hyundai), calipers & mounting plates off FTO/Mirage RS/Satria GTi & XLi with matching handbrake cables. Just needed a 5mm spacer plate between the caliper & mount.

The difference between my engine conversion & yours is that the Camry V6 is of a similar length to the S series 4. I'm using a bigger 4 cylinder which is about 20mm longer. So now the mount bolted to the body interferes wth the timing cover, and the cast part bolted to the block is hard up against the chassis rail.
Luckily, the single cam Excels came with a steel mount, not aluminium, so I can cut it down & weld to it.

How thick is the different metal parts you uses for the mount?

I'm thinking just to get a single piece of plate, but get it bent under instead of welding together like you've done & then use 2 of the 3 mounts on the casting, but also connect it to the 2nd mount behind. The plate would be welded to the steel mount with it extended a bit above to get a good fillet weld in, and possibly a gusset underneath.

sounds like you got it pretty much sorted.....

my adapter plate, 6mm mild steel running vertical, and 4mm angle for the bottom to meet up with stock mounting bolt holes,
mazda 6 mount for memory is about 4-5mm thick steel, and that is as you see just bolted to the 6mm vertical

Got it sorted? Considering the path the car has ended up taking, I wished I'd started with something from a manufacturer that has some decent performance cars
Mitsubishi & Toyota spring to mind...

Closing out this thread as i dont have the car anymore, it has been stripped and gutted and sent off to scrap,

i still have all the custom parts and am working on the evolution to the v6 st184, and working on a v6 gt4,
i already have the gt4 trans bolted to the 3vzfe,

but life gets in the way and I haven't gotten much further, still want to complete it, and at some point i will,
but for now i have other priorities and builds to work on,

Thanks to all that followed along, and those that had positive input and information,
