    fair enough
yeah work out that boost cos i think youll find itll be quite low with that pulley

also youre gonna need alot more belt on that pulley i think man... AW11 owners with that SC14 have it slipping with 60-70% belt coverage at 12psi

1st....stock SC14 clutched pulley contacts chassis rail.....so non-clutched pulley is the answer......

also due to not being able to make mounting whilst motor was in the celica we got bottom radiotor mount that charger aslo contacts..... this will be solved by moving radiator mounts and leaning radiator forward at the bottom about 5mm but going an inch to be sure........

also does anyone know the stock harmonic balancer size in mm for the 1ggze.... just so i can work out boost.....
Yeah, my MR2 belt needed to be pretty tight. I was running 12psi with a 165mm pulley on a 4A-GE, so you're going to need to run at least that ratio (from memory std SC14 pulley is 125mm, giving a ratio of 1.32:1) to get any kind of boost on a 3ltr.

Ideally if you're getting a solid pulley made, get it made smaller, rather than a bigger crank pulley (unless you can have a dedicated belt for the SC, because otherwise you'll over-spin your alternator) but keep in mind that if you go too small you'll have trouble getting the belt to grip.

Nick had a 185mm pulley on his for a while, giving a ratio of nearly 1.5:1, which worked really well, but i think it started to run out of puff around 5500-6000rpm. If you're only going to spin to that speed, then a ratio of 1.5:1 is probably ok.

That said, you're going to want good belt coverage, and ideally I'd still go for a dedicated belt, because if you put too much tension on the belt for the alternator you'll kill the bearings, but the SC14 has a pretty solid bearing inside and can handle a bit more tension.

    more updates....

nice project, so did you end up using the camry struts etc? (i assume not since you ended up going back with the std gearbox)

so then do you just do a gt4 brake/disc upgrade?

how did you modify the engine mounts? got pics?

when push came to shove and i had to make a decision on which box to use i went with the standar as mounts didnt transfer like i was led to believe...... however now i beleive i have found a solution for that......so if std celica box shits itself i still got the option of camry box........

all my engineer said he wanted to see to pass it was slotted rotors....so for now just going with that......as well as pads to match....

engine mount is yet to be made heading down there this weekend so planning to make mount, service cv's and reinstall, and hook up all clutch and geabox related cables and hoses..... will see how much i get done......

Always like watching engine swaps, always wanted to explore an V6 into a GT4 once I get my hands on one. The more the better I say, especially since I wanted to go the 3VZ as well. Either that, or a 3VZ into an SW20. Will be watching this one with interest.

and im watchin this too, like many i wanted to do this but i needed the car goin that day so i just went with a $100 3sfe

and i think that FWD convert verses a RWD convert would be totaly sweet in a drag, and the toque steer (shudders with excitment and wonder of why i have excitment )
