    Talking 90 Hilux to Sr20det

Just wondering if any on out there knew what people did when putting a sr20det into 90 hilux we have mounted the motor whitch was pretty easy and made a gear box mount but now the altinator is pretty close to the steering box because the car didn't come with power steering or air con we were thinking of putting the alt on the exaust side unless there is any other way out of it

Looks like your going to have to fab up a custom bracket.

Custom mounts off the cross member, std engine mounts and rubbers.

Engine just has to sit a fair bit foward

ROLFz! (you are joking right? cause some engines do sit in the bay at a slanted angle which is what 1JLux was saying)

All those chrysler 265s must have been actually made in china LOL!

So next time you try mounting an engine why not look at what has to fit where before welding everything else up?

in all honesty moving the engine over to the passenger side slightly will be the easiest way to fix the problem, making up alt mounts etc sucks arse.

    cheers

there is enough room for alt to go in there but you don't get full adjustment we have fixed the problem now by spacing the steering box across a little bit why would you mount the motor across to one side that would just put everything else out of scewe

look at all that room you had on the other side it was just begging you to put the alternator there.
