Just wondering if any on out there knew what people did when putting a sr20det into 90 hilux we have mounted the motor whitch was pretty easy and made a gear box mount but now the altinator is pretty close to the steering box because the car didn't come with power steering or air con we were thinking of putting the alt on the exaust side unless there is any other way out of it
here is a picture of the motor in
here is where the alt has to go
Looks like your going to have to fab up a custom bracket.

are you being racist?
Custom mounts off the cross member, std engine mounts and rubbers.
Engine just has to sit a fair bit foward
MX83 Grande
DirtyWan Skyline GX
ROLFz! (you are joking right? cause some engines do sit in the bay at a slanted angle which is what 1JLux was saying)Originally Posted by SillyCarS

putting the motor foward would be a pain in the ass as it is all mounted allready and the motor sits fine all im wondering about is the alt bracket
Yeah I was refering to the slanted style engines like the 3K.

So next time you try mounting an engine why not look at what has to fit where before welding everything else up?Originally Posted by #rolla boy
in all honesty moving the engine over to the passenger side slightly will be the easiest way to fix the problem, making up alt mounts etc sucks arse.
cheers

look at all that room you had on the other side it was just begging you to put the alternator there.
