Default Can you help Toymods? We need someone!

    Hi,

We are looking for someone who has a bit of an artistic flair and is handy with words to be a part of the Toymods team to help create a quarterly newsletter.

The newsletter goes out to all financial members and it entails events, results, rides, and other tidbits of information that the Club is doing. The format is open to discussion and this is a chance for you to shine with your flair and skills.

By default, this person would become an ordinary Board member, and therefore must be able to attend Board meetings and Club meetings.

If you are interested, please let us know.

    Hi,

Well, like all "proper" Shane's he's left-handed, witty, knowlegdable and handsome. A good choice, but I have other plans for him. I need to speak to the Board first however. Furthermore, he is not local and it would be difficult for him to attend Board and Club meetings.

I know its only been a day but...
I have brought this up with Josh and i remember bringing it up at a board meeting as well,

Im happy to donate my time to make a toymods DVD.

very much like a newsletter but in DVD format,
eg: have a report on an event and cruise and have some sort of tec part,
were if someone is doing something like painting there car then i can film part of it,
and i could interview club members about there cars..

problem though it would only be done every 2 months not 1 a month like you guys might want with a newsletter.
and by the time its put together the event would have been about 4-5 weeks ago.

as im the worst speller on toymods a DVD would be easer for me to do

any way this is what i have brought to the table now you guys can discuss it and we will see what the world leaders say

Plus on a DVD you can also add a heap of pics from the event too, and even vids (dyno day would be good there!).

It is the nature of the beast that to have a decent length of time between newsletters creating a time lag between the actual event and the report - but it could also provide a little extra incentive for our current or prospective interstate members.

I know im only new here, and am not a finacal member, but how about if you do like a dvd every second month, and a newsletter on the other months. So there would be time to keep up with whats happening, and next month a dvd come out with all the footage etc.

I'm on the brink of a full fibreglass remodelling (custom widebody) and respray. I'm happy to take video and pictures to create a 'how to' on fibreglassing etc..

that is pretty much what i was thinking, as the more people that put stuff together or approach me and ask to do a film on eg them making custom mounts,
the more content the DVD will have.
but it was just me thinking (i don't do much of that )

cost of sending DVD vs paper?

are there enough events to warrant a regular DVD? or just say 2 a year? (after dyno day+ other stuff)
    + effort/wear/cost of burning 100 DVD's every 2 months?

i was thinking of the 2 events that are done every month + a tec bit + a meet the members part + there car/cars + maybe a work shop bit.
theres a lot of content that can be made its just finding the time to go to every event

a gold coin should cover that, + how many financial members do they have ATM?

because it would only be for financial members.

    Thanks, Craig

i thought it was about 100 members atm?

i have a lot of patience, but i don't think it would extend to burning 100 DVD's every couple of months
in sending cost, i mean cost of DVD+post vs cost of paper + post
paper can be sent as letter... CD as?
sure itS7 only a gold coin each time.. that you need to collect, but people baulk at paying $40 for membership.. another $5-10 a year for DVD newsletters? what if not all member want it?

    agree with the download,

anyway, just a few things that need to be nutted out.
perhaps a paper one would be a good starting point, and if people appreciate it, then move to DVD? meh.. if you have the time and energy, go for it
