Sorry for the resurrection here but I was wandering if you could remember a price for the struts/steering arms? Just curious roughly what the parts would cost because it sounds like such a worthwhile upgrade. Thanks

For reference, RA60, SA63 and RA65 PS arms are the same (according to EPC).

Also SupraFirend notes in his write up that he compared alot of steering arms from the 70's up untill the RA65, and found the RA65 arms to be shortest and also have the bump stops in the correct places. So i'd recommend getting RA65 arms not RA60. Don't know about SA63 steering arms, they could work, or might not.
SA63,RA60,RA65 all have the same part numbers listed for power steering type steering knuckles

I put a set into my RT142 wagon with manual steer, with 225s on MA61 wheels it takes some more grunt to park, but it's made the steering response nice and crisp. Well as good as a Corona wagon is gonna get.

The spanner in my avatar is actually a 16mm, that's why it's still new

Well I've got a leaking power steering rack so sounds like the extra pressure might not be too good for that so I'll prob have to get a recon one of those if I did this.

$100 for both struts and the steering arms were $25 each, so thats $150 total. And heck yes this is a worthwhile upgrade. Might need to do something about that powersteering rack of yours though. If you pull it out yourself and take it somewhere to get reco it shouldnt cost that much.

If only I knew how to pull it out. Guess I'll hit the old TSRM again

Thanks for the pricing, now I know roughly what to expect

I'd go down to the local supercheap or wherever and buy yourself a ball joint puller. I didn't and it took me a while to whack those knuckles off with hammers. Just undo the swaybar links and toe rod. That'll let the LCA drop. Then undo the 3 nuts at the top of the strut, unbolt the strut from the knuckle (2 bolts) and she'll come right out. Then use ball joint puller on knuckle. EASY mate! Hehe, i got the wreckers to take em out for me, went to mates place, played some pool and they called me when they were done, lol.

Too easy How much does a ball joint puller cost these days? I'll just see if the wreckers can do it for me but it's probably worth pulling them off myself if cheaper.

Well I'll probably get a puller then and go to a u-pull-it or something and see what I can find

I was thinking about ripping mine out because I wanted the normal camber back (as I have yet to put in ra60 struts) but i've really grown to love the quicker steering! I drove a hyundai sonata pos and couldn't believe how many turns I had to do to get around a round-about.

I should really get under the car and adjust the steering stops, the brake calipers are doing their job atm

Yes, i am really surprised to see that the RA60/5 PS arms and MA61 struts, combined do not work. There's obviously a different cut angle, on the face of the RA65 PS arm to the MA61 item. Hurry up and put them RA60 struts in
