Why manual? A blown v8 is going to be a lot more dificult then a stock 1j

You'd be better off going a built auto and making that your drag car, the 1j your circuit car, and then buy a is300 with stick a stock 2jzgte in that for a daily And then maybe a ke35 with a gt4 driveline, i.e. awd turbo 3sgte

Well, thats what i hope for my garage to consist of some day... Well with 23's instead of 28s

    Cheers,
    Jase

    Hey,
Just bumping this one up. I two am looking at this for possible engines for my ra28.
Some questions id ask myself to start with are:

Cost variance of non vvti vs vvti halfcuts?
Availability of appropriate gearbox with the halfcut, r154, auto etc?
Ease of upgrading to larger single turbo? other performance mods compared to non vvti?
The performance gains and threshold of the single vvti turbo against non vvti twins?
Ease of dump pipe fabrication for single turbo vs twins?

    Cheers

Pretty straight forward, the VVTI and non VVti are both great motor in these...

The non vvti motors are 1500$ the vvti i've seen for around 2500$ half cut for non vvti 4100$ with r154. The vvti is more! I'd suspect no less then 5k-5500...

Call wreckers but i dont know how often halfcuts are around, but motors are uncommon, atleast the non vvti ones arent.

The vvti is already single, and you'd proly be able to reuse the manifold, but you'd prolly upgrade it anyway! And the rest of the mods for both motors would be same.. (Injectors, Ecu etc).
The vvti will make more power better, but are harder to get right when tuning and making full use of the VVTi, so i'd imagine a succseful tune might cost more!?

Dump pipes on a single are alyways going to be easier then a twin!

Just remember the vvti is a single turbo motor already!

    Cheers,
    Jase
