4age lifters...all the same?

hey all
gotta replace the buckets/lifters in my 4AGZE bigport head. i went into the local toyota dealer earlier today and got a price of 355 bucks for a set.

im going to try and source some aftermarket ones tomorrow....are all the buckets/lifters the same throught out the different 4ag heads. aftermarket people seem to be a bit confused on import engines sometimes

this would make the search much easier. thanks for any advice!

I think they are all the same among 16 valve variants, a part number check should clear this up.

not 100 percent sure, but i think 3SG/TE ones fit too

all bigport 4ag(z)e buckets are the same and the small port would be too but i havent measured both.
to get some buckets try any head reconditioner to see if they have any good 2nd hand ones for the shims just get them from toyota under 5$ each, if the head is alltogether measure for correct clearances to get correct shim.
i havent heard of aftermarket buckets only solids that you have to shave the valve stalk to get the right clearance.

how can you damaged your buckets? ive got a spare set if youre interested. its gen1 3sge thats the same as 4ag i think.

Smallport buckets will also fit. I've used a set on my bigport head. Generally if you have a full set of shims, an engine reconditioner can shave them down to spec provided they're not too munted.
