Default Oil pipe on gen3 3sgte head

Howdy, when assembling my 3sgte over the weekend I found there is a pipe coming out the inlet side of the head, towards the back. It seems to join an oil gallery in the head.

I cant work out what this would be for? Its not turbo as that gets oil from block on the exhaust side.

    Thanks
    Joel

    Ah

I was stumped by that one for a fair while as well. I think it is actually a water line to the throttle body. I'll have a look this evening and see if I can figure out where it goes for you, but I can't promise too much there's not a lot of room in there.

hmmm that could be concerning as while filling up the engine with oil quite a bit found its way out of that pipe

I better take a look then.

Come to think of it, it could have been the small pipe that comes up into the bottom of the oil air seperator. There was a group of three pipes that connected down there, two were water for the throttle body and the other was for the oil air seperator.

It really is a pain because I could not find any diagrams that showed it clearly in the epc or the BGB.

I'll check it out tonight for you though.

    Thanks mate much appriciated.

Also, not really related at all to this thread but thought you may know.. I'm urgently chasing the 3x fuel rail spacers that sit under the rail (small black plastic bits).. You wouldn't happen to know who may have a set?

I've tried Toyota but they do not carry them.

    Cheers

I wanted to replace them as well but Toyota didn't have any. I ended up using the old ones sorry.

I do remember hearing somewhere that they are the same as the ones on the 2JZ-GTE if that is any help for you.

Is Warwick able to get them?

Nah Warwick cannot help there. Not a replacement part made it seems.

I recall 4AGE ones looks very similar, not sure if same diameter but might be a start. Looks like a trip out to pick n pay.

Or you could look at getting a sheet of urethane from Noltec or someone and making your own copies.

Yeah thats an idea.. Shane (Cool1) just confirmed that pipe is the drain from the oil/air seperator.

    Cheers
