    You have 2 options:

    1. You could take it to a mechanic/modification place but you might find you wont have much change if any form 5k but it is drive in drive out.

    2. Talk to fellow toymoders around your area, im sure they would lend a hand in helping you to do it yourself. All you have to do is supply beer and the od BBQ. You also get the satisfaction of doing it yourself when you turn the key and it starts!

All in all good luck and I hope it works out.

or possibly one of the most brilliant things i have seen from someone on these forums...

this may be an incredibly cheap upgrade if it all works out (no driveline modifications from gearbox back) and on paper the NA 3vzfe engine has comparable performance to the 1ggte

V6 conversion probably isn't for the faint hearted.

18RG would be the simplest. You could knock that over in your garage in a couple of days (taking it nice and slow).

If you really have your heart set on a 1GGTE, then budget for 3-5K with someone doing all the work. That said, it's a simple and incredibly well documented conversion for you to attempt at home even if it's your first one.

yep - ive done the 1ggte conversion to my RA40. piece of piss really

it probly cost me $2.5K to do my conversion but that was making everything, including the IC pipes and exhaust.

although expect over $5k for a mechanic place to do it.

at the end of the day you will have a awesome car. 1g's are fantasic except they lack a little bottom end
