    Default 94 Soarer Manual Conversion

Ok, I've rang up a few places, and found them to be pretty expensive. I'm not a complete Noob, I've done manual conversions before.
Whats the average pricing on Kits, or parts. And whats actually needed?
    1994 Soarer
    2jz-ge Auto

Im pretty shure I will need Deffinantly

    Clutch box, slave cylinder
    Clutch lines
    etc, all clutch related stuff
    Manual Dash
    Gearboot, and surround
Since there wasnt a Factory option for this, guess the 2JZ-ge manual ECU from a jza80 supra will plug straight upto the factory loom.

    Gearbox Wise
    R154
    Or W58 ?
    Whats the difference?
Cheapest option, since it's non turbo, i guess since the w58 is cheaper to use this.
    and diff to suit it.

    is that all thats needed?

The stock auto ECU will work fine.

Do you really need to change the dash?

Gearbox wise the R154 is about 3 times the price of the W5x. If it is staying NA then it is pretty well a no brainer -> W5x.

    Gearbox is about $300->400.

Bellhousing prices vary, but I think they are around $500ish new from Toyota?

I also wouldn't bother changing the diff ratio.

You'll also need to sort out the tailshaft...

Search on SoarerCentral.com and see what the guys would state? Personally as I'm a city rush hour driver... I'll stick to my Auto.

    Cheers.

Pedals, you can either use the JZA80 clutch pedal or jzz30 (obvious). Brake pedal is about $80 new from Toyota, you can cut the auto pedal to suit but its never as good.
Tailshaft share the same spline on both auto and manual boxes, to fit the r154 you need to lenghten the auto front section by 50mm. Use the auto ecu and you can swap a manual one in later, it will give you the o/d light flashing and an error on the dash but will work fine. Manual ecu removes both error and o/d flashing. The manual dash will just not have the area where it show s what gear the auto is in, no need to swap it.
Make sure you get the speed sender on the manual box as the auto one will not fit.
You can get a clutch line made up for $25 and just bend it to suit.
You should be able to pick up a bellhousing 2nd hand for $200 or so, if you can''t find a late model w58 that comes with it. These boxes are a bit dearer as they already have the bellhousing .
A mate of mine may still have one , he is in Brisbane . Let me know if you are chasing this now or just researching.
    Good luck with it.

That's only true if the manual gearbox you are talking about is R154! And not W58.

    To sum it up

    A340E Yoke (Auto) <EQUALS> R154 (Manual)
    A340E Yoke (Auto) <DOESN'T EQUAL> W58 (Manual)

Could save some people some confusion!

No such thing as a manual ECU as the JZZ31 never came in manual

Dash will be fine, it doesnt care aside from the error msgs as mentioned

Must admit that wasn';t written clearly.
    Willbo has it down correct.

Phil, i forgot that detail on the ecu. Never had one , so didn't give it much thought.

yeh the US one (SC300) did, but then a US manual ECU would no doubt have issues with the digi dash and various other things
