no i dont ever think not having pics is deliberate, coz all the post i see with not pics have pics offered coz ppl havnt yet taken pics, or dont know how to host them (which doesnt really take much interwebs skills)

anyway im not going to get raged about it, just hope a majority poll will make the admins pay attention as to what toymodders would like to see happen on their forums.

im going with no on this one, simply because my roomate went to sell his car on ns.com -NOT THAT TOYMODS IS ANYTHING LIKE NS- and the minute he put up picks and a location his r33 4 door was stolen

similarly i've taken down all the info/pics of my car in the members rides thread after finding a group of random dudes hanging around my car that hasnt seen the road for at least 2 yrs and is parked in an off street location in the middle of the night

if your interested you'll come look and then at least that way i'll have a description to give the coppers when this fooley trust'd toymodz member steals it

I agree with that "no price" bullshit.

Auctions shit me... Why should you have to wait a week or two for some money-hungry seller to decide whether a certain amount of money is a fair swap for the goods in question. If the price is acceptable after a couple of weeks of trying to suck more money out of the buyers, why was it not acceptable in the first place?

I would be happy if the rules were revised, saying that all items actually need to disclose a price. Some ppl are starting to argue that they are NOT auctioning, NOT eoi-ing, just selling an item for a fixed price that they would prefer not to disclose... so therefore they are conforming to the rules. WTF???

    Just my opinion, however...

edit: oops, took me a while to type this, it was in response to ricey's post about items needing a price

    Jesse,

Serious Buyers Look at actual cars and make calls

Tyre Kickers, Timewasters and 15 year olds look at pics on the web !
    Which one are you ?

I don't argue that pics in for sale threads go a LONG way to help selling a vehicle but if the seller doesn't he/she will have there reasons and I have no problem with that.

And for the record, my last 3 cars have all been bought sight unseen or peding inspection on collection ! Hell I didn't see my old MS63 for the first time for over a year after I had paid for it.

    Hey Rad,

    I know I shouldn't go O/T, but I was just supported Ricey's comment.

    The relevant rules are actually:

No Expressions of Interests (EOI). You're either selling an item or you're not.
No auctions. This is not Ebay

I've read a couple of sellers saying "It's not an EOI, as i'm definately selling, and I'm not starting an auction, I just haven't stated my price". Then it comes down to interpretation... and whether you then class it as an auction.

By adding a rule like you say above... No price, No post... then it would make so much clearer!!!

As for pics, I agree that it is pointless the seller having a thread without pics, but I don't agree that it should be a rule.

The suggested No price - No post Rule is nice. Its what was intended anyway but it does clear it up. I'll see what I can do and speak to the board.

That would be a great development for the sale section of the forum. Why people want to go back and forth on price is beyond me. Ive given it to a number of people who after 5 or so PM's are still saying to me that I am a little short of their expected price. The only logic I can see in selling that way is in the hope of jagging a bit more then they had in mind from an unsuspecting buyer..While im off topic can we also please abolish all non toyota members ride threads and all "previous rides" mentioning signatures,I also find them pointless and contribute to giving me the shits

what's wrong with "previous rides" in sig??? It shows your history, and therefore knowledge base which may be useful to some users when looking for information... "oh... that dude used to own an MS262... i'll ask him about the............."

maybe if you didnt jam so much anal lube up there you might not have the shits so bad?

I dont think it should be mandatory to have pics. If someone is genuinely interested, they will call... and conversely if a seller is genuinely motivated to sell, they will post up all info possible, including pics.

Whenever i've been interested in something on these forums, or other forums.... the first thing i do is look for a phone number, and CALL the person. Next best thing - send a PM, plus post the obligatory "PM sent, very interested"

This thread topic is almost as pointless as watching "The View"

i mean wtf im sick of asking for pictures.

a lot of guys know exaclty what a toyota me262 or whatever looks like off the top of their head but there are a lot of models i am not familiar with and i know i can google it but there are heaps more reasons why a picture should be mandatory.
if you're serious you can do one of three things:

1: if local go see it
2: if unsure ask for more info
3: if you're far away ask for pics explaining your distance from the seller

if you just want to look at interesting cars go sit on the side of the monash freeway at 7.50am, lots of cars to see for hours there
