    Default finding an oil leak.

trying to source an oil leak.. hows the best way to do it? I have found the rough location its gathering on the front of the block on cyl 1. all of that side has oil over it so where abouts in that area can it leak? there is a lil sensor in the front of the block on cyl one? can oil leak from there? can it leak from a head gasket at all? hope not

Best way is to clean up the area/whole engine with some degreaser, then in a few hours, or a day after it's been driven have a look to see where the fresh oil is coming from.

Around cylinder 1 is likely to be a cam seal under the timing belt cover, rocker cover gasket, or if there's an oil pressure sender or something around the area that could be leaking.

grr i replaced all the top seals for the cam cover and the cam shaft seals but its still collecting under the headgasket of cyl 1... there wasa bit of oil inside the crank case ont eh side of the block also. GRRR! can oil come out of the head gasket at all?

a mate of mine put a 4AGE headgasket on upside down/backwards/something and it pissed oil out between the head and block.

cyl one sounds like dizzy seal.

There is something you can get to add to your oil for finding hard to find/slow leaks, it goes in the oil and when is exposed to atmosphere again changes colour. Wish I could remember the name of it.

That sounds pretty hard to do - I thought they only went on one way

Isn't there oil cooler lines around that area along with the oil filter and a few other things. Oil cooler hose could be Leaking
