Default HKS Twin Power DLI Kit quiery

ok i have been told that my sparkage is laging... so in order to stit out more ponies i need something like a HKS Twin Power DLI Kit.

i have a jza70, r154 conversion, currently 330hp and apparently wanting to spit out alot more.
is this a kit that will work with my toy??

your spark is lagging? as in, it is somehow being delayed?
or you are having spark blowout?
what boost are you running now, plugs, gap etc

i dont even know how toread these dyno charts lol
um no idea what the boost is at, will look next time i jump in the car i guess... after the clutch is replaced...

story was the car supposidly had 410 ponies... but with your foot down she would take off thn cough a few times before powering on... well i dropped her at a performance shop and said, "stop the cough" they returned the car with 330 ponies, saying that they had to cloce the gaps on my plugs and wing back the boost couse the ingition wasnt coping..

i had the same problem, 20 psi was blowing the spark out (had irridiums in), bought some $5 plugs, closed the gap and it was ok.

i bought one of those hks twin power kits, deff an improvement, was smoother and pulled a bit better. Just so happens i put the irridiums back in the other day and its running as good as ever. In my opinion worth the effort. see tangla on here, might be able to beat that price.

also i didnt change the coil, thats (one of) the next thing on the list.

    what are your mods?

Have you checked the coil packs for hairline cracks? Checked the coil pack connectors?

If your car is stockish, BKR6e's at .8mm gap should be fine.

If it is fairly modded, I like BCPR7e's, start from .8mm gap and decrease if there is spark blowout.

But yeah, mods and boost level will help

has anyone ever tested one of these (back to back dyno runs) on a standard JZ ignition system?

I like the idea of them but have never really looked into the real world gains.

AFAIK the stock ignition system is pretty impressive in standard form.

They did a while back in Zoom with Donnons 1J Soarer. Not sure on the level of mods but i believe it was still on the stock twins, about 240kW at the wheels at guess - will see if i can find it to confirm. Didnt see much improvement with his car but tested another car (big power GT-R) and there were significant gains (i believe in the order of 20kW as it allowed a proper tune till redline).

His conclusion was that it was dependent on the condition of the stock system that if it could handle the power then there wouldnt be any gains (like his Soarer) but if the ignition system was the limiting factor then the gains are there (GT-R example).

So its possible the twin spark would be unneccessary for a good condition JZ ignition system? ...and maybe Shadow6 was given the wrong solution?
