    Default 4AG 16v Flywheel

    Hi everyone..

I have a doubt, I expect that you could help me...
how many bolts has the 4ag 16v flywheel? 8 bolts? is there a version with 6 bolts?

    thanks

Yes, 8 bolts are common though I have a feeling that there was a very early release of 4ages with 6. 4acs are 6 bolts.

    thanks for your comment..
that's the thing.. I have a doubt if there are a 6 bolt flywheel for the 4ag.. maybe in the transversal 4AG (MR2)?? the 4A flywheel could be used in the 6 bolt 4AG?

    thanks

I too, have been searching for this mythical beast.(almost 3 years now) I have heard both that its real and exists and that it does not. I can confirm that the 4ac, 4af, and 7af flywheels have 6 bolts. actually what i would really love to find is a 8 bolt flywheel that takes a 190mm clutch. (another mythical creature said to exist somewhere) I have a z50 transmission in the tercel that will not take even the small 200mm flywheel from a 4a, aside from having something custom built i think i'm pooched. or do some fancy building with variious "A" series bottom end parts to have a 4age with 6 bolt flywheel compatability...... could always use a 4ac/f block but possibly need to change pistions for a ge? 4afe cranks are large mains (42mm) but the smaller rod connection (18/19mm?) so you could use it in a newer block but have to salvage rods from an earlier 4ag or the rods from the 4af itself......... anyways im prattling, if you find something let me know.

To clarify, what I meant to type was that "I'd heard", not "have a feeling". Agree with above comments, have only ever seen 4ages with 8 bolts and 4acs with 6.

If you're looking for a good 6bolt 4AGE flywheel, I seem to remember news (probably 2 years ago now, and maybe on club4ag or aeu86.org) that someone made a batch of nice billet 200mm flywheels, but screwed up and had them drilled to 6 bolt.

Some of these may still be floating around if that's what you are after.

Also I concur with the above, despite rumours of 6bolt 4AG flywheels I don't believe they happened.

I have, i have seen a whole three of them. 150mm, made for a 5 1/4" Tilton clutch and the kid who wanted them made screwed up and specified 6 holes not 8.

I think they found the special bin.

I though you can get 6-bolt billet flywheels for 7ag conversions? e.g. the Alloy Race Components "Toda" style, i've seen in 6-bolt hole pattern.

mmm... I can tell that nobody have ever seen a 6 bolts 4AG flywheel/crankshaft..
.. my friend have a 4AG (disarmed) but with a 6 bolts crankshaft.. he dont have the flywheel... this crankshaft must be from the 4A engine? can we use this crankshaft in the 4AG block? with the 4A flywheel? the 7A one? what can we do to use this engine??
