Smile 3RZFE engine to replace 22R engine in 95 model hilux ute

Hi there to all, i am new to the forum so please dont be to harsh on me if i bring up an old topic again.
I have looked quite a bit, but with no luck have not found any info to help me know if anyone has taken out there old 22R carby crap donk and given there ute a breath of fresh air with a 2.7ltr 3RZ FE engine.
I would like to know if it bolts in with any troubles, and will gearboxes match up ok.
Once i get over the install hurdle, i am going to turbo charge it anyway, BUT i have to get it in there first the fun can begin later.
Please if anyone knows something or someone that can help any info would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Dave.

Your truck runs a G 52 gearbox , a RZ bellhousing bolts right up to both , you will have to fab engine mount up tho . Ive got the right bell for you if you need .

Not really but if you keep the boost down and dont try to drop the clutch it will hold . You really need the bigger V6 gearbox but expect $2000 for the box alone. I have used G52,s behind 3.0 six,s and never had a prob . So there ok if treated ok.

    How is this conversion going?

I am considering the 3RZFE for my 81 4x4 hilux, the 18r in it is only just better on fuel then my Aristo lol, its terrible.

i have a 04 hilux (2wd tray) with a 3RZFE and i get 500kms from the 60 litre tank with my tools and ladders and crap.

so yeah, its still not fantastic fuel economy.

probably a bit more power, but its the 3rz's 200nm @1250rpm which make it nice to put around in traffic.

The donor hilux I am trying to get the engine from is a late 2006 model so I guess that makes it a 2TR-FE ? some sites say its a completely new engine others say its just a different head with VVT. Can anyone give me more info?
