How much hp do you make with that?
When we got up past 500hp atw we had to get down to .7mm or less to stop missfires.
That's with std coils and plugs, but aftermarket ecu.

CDI makes a big difference..........
Rep points are for those who feel inadequate in other areas !
looks like a freaking huge difference actually
dx20vt : what plugs are you running?
I use bkr7es gapped to .6 making just under 600 hp through glide and 9inch stock coils and no cdi and they look not too bad. Range colder in bkr range are bkr8es -11 i dont use them due to 1.1 std gap you can get bkr8e meaning its a std plug not a v power . I will be giving them a shot next with nos.
Been a while since I was in there so not 100% sure.Originally Posted by al167

the standard plug for a 2j is BKR6EP-11
heres an extract from the ngk website
Heat Range
With modified engines (those engines that have increased their compression) more heat is a by-product of the added power that normally comes with increased compression. In short, select one heat range colder for every 75-100 hp you add, or when you significantly raise compression. Also remember to retard the timing a little and to increase fuel enrichment and octane. These tips are critical when adding forced induction (turbos, superchargers or nitrous kits), and failure to address ALL of these areas will virtually guarantee engine damage.
maybe the 7 is too hot for 500+ rwhp? if what above is correct then id need probably 3 steps cooler and maybe a 9
any thaughts?
guys sorry to bring up an old thread bu im having this problem i think
at 440rwhp my car is misfiring, at the moment im putting it down to fuel but cause also be spark
im running bosch coils and leads and ngk plugs 0.7 at the moment on 2jz with microtech ignighter
o was gonna go back to 0.6 to try that

At that power level I'd seriously consider CDI. My 2JZ is putting down 442rwhp with no hint of misfire, using an MSD DIS4 and stock coils. Some might say it's overkill but at least you don't have to be concerned about ignition again and it gives you plenty of room for future power upgrades.

anything above 15psi it will start misfiring. i got a 30psi map senso on the microtech
i just wanna run 20psi
