    Default Brake Pipe Flaring

    Hey Guys,

I am wondering where I can get a Cheap Flare Tool to help me fix a cracked steel line.

Or if someone in Sydney has a tool that they can help me out with it would be appreciated.

The Pipe seems to be a Single Flare

As it looks like the middle one in the photo.

    Thanks in Advance,

    Nathan

The middle pic is just what the pipe looks like after the first stage of a double flare.

First the 'ball' is made, then folded inside to make the double layer.

    Cheers

the middle pic is actually still what they class as a double flare, just not an inverted seat style flare. BMW etc use the same style flare as the middle pic.

not sure if they are sold at bunnings but i believe most autoparts stores should have kits for $80 or so.

    cheers

Have you used it yet? good/bad?

Reason I asked was I bought a set a while back which did cost a fair bit but when I tried it, it was shit! the flaring tool couldn't even make a proper flare, it ended caving in on the side giving you a flare looking like a melting ice cream cone!

i reckon a decent brake shope could flare a tube you take to them pretty cheaply..

I bought a pipe flaring set from auto1 about 6 months ago. Looks the same as that one ^^^

Works well if i take my time. I did the pipes on the rear of my Corona and its lasted 5 months or so.

    My set cost $99.

I've done hundreds of bend's & flare's with this set.. (pipe cutter was shit, now got larger one)
The clamp on the flaring tool is very tight, & single or double flare is good.. & dose 6 sizes of tube..
The pipe bender only dose 4 sizes...
i looked at all.. some cheeper & some more $$..
but as you can see i got this set.. & made in the USA..
More details & pic's on how to use soon, in my " How to fit RT142 rear disc's to most 4 studs "
I buy my bundy tubing in bulk, as only way i can get delivery, from "One Steel"
