Default 18R-GEU intake manifold onto 2T-G

is this possible? By the looks of things the EFI manifold(and whole setup) for the 2T-G is pretty non-exsistant.. so I think i read somewhere that the 18R-GUE bolts up?
    true or false?

    Simple answer is FALSE.

The spacing of the cylinders is different between the two engines. The 18R-G is longer and has even spacings, the 2T-G has a narrower spacing between 2 and 3.

Concequently the port spacing differs between the two. A lot of cutting and welding would be needed to re-space the runners and the mounting flange.

Have you thought of using sidedraught style Throttle bodies on the OEM 2T-G manifold?

    Regards

    Rodger

The 2T-GEU manifold is available occasionally, but as Rodger said, side-draught style throttles are the go... then you don't lose the horny sound that only comes from individual intakes!!

    Hey Radar,

Since you're in Adelaide, i'd suggest you check out "adelaide jap"

    http://www.adelaidejap.com.au/toyota.htm

$1150 for a complete EFI 2TG with gearbox is not a bad price in my opinion.

Would give you ALL the parts you need

If you already have a high comp bottom end, even better. The downside of toyotas 80's EFI engines is that they dropped the compression. Nothing stopping you from taking a nice bottom end and putting on the top end from aforementioned 2T-GEU.

    Cheers,
    Tim

Do you think they would part out the engine and just sell the manifold? I need one to put a standalone fuel injection setup on it

    I doubt that dude,

But no harm is having a spare bottom end... Its only 1150, and ive seen manifolds listed on ebay for 18rgeu for 500$+ (wether they sold is another question...)

Are they that rare to get in OZ? I knew they were sought after in the US but thought they were more common in OZ and here in NZ.

Last one i sold for a lot to the US but i have a spare here if you are keen.
The postage cost due to the weight would be NZ$150 or more at a guess (all up weight was just under 14kg)

I think the an 18RGEU throttle body will bolt up to a 2TGEU plenum, thats about it though.

actually 2T and 2TG ports are in the same place, just the bolts are in different patterns
u can weld ears onto the 2TG EFI inlet manifold to make it fit the 2T

    Filthman - PM'd

AE25 - Cheers for the pic's man, im sure they will come in handy

Grega - W.W.J.D.? He would say that is a fantasic idea if u don't like impure sexy sounds of twin side draft webber's. I beleive EFI should only come into play on a forced inducted motor.. thats just my two cents... Still though awesome if you want good fuel economy
