    Default 1ggte conversion

ok finally with the death of my 18rgeu, i am doing my celica up. going to put a 1ggte in it, but atm i am in the planning stages, at the moment i am chasing 1gge engine mounts but i cant find any listings on them for new. does any one have the part no for them. also, just after a tech article on the brake upgrade to 5 stud. i am just in the planing stages for the parts and how to do some stuff.

i've heard you may be able to get the mounts needed new, but for like $250...altho thats just a rumour i heard. Best off finding some used, there used to be some for sale on here but dunno if they sold or not. Remember to get ones off a ga70 or gz2-, as gz10 ones look the same, but are slightly different, and need more mods.

Hey buddy do you still have the TA23 x member in you car or has it been changed to an RA23 item when the 18R was fitted?

If you still have the TA23 X member you will need a frount sump 1G and leave the engine mounts in the foward position.

This is a bonus caus you dont have to re drill the mounts or cut the web(you can do one or the other or a combination of both). But you still need to space the drivers side mount and change the angle of the passenger side mount. If using GA70/GZ20 1GGTE muonts.
The TA23 X member is the best option to use when fitting power steer to.

Hey i know what you mean about the search the info is here but it can be hard to find at times.
    Good luck

    Cheers Case

Make sure you pick up a half-cut , if you buy just the motor then you will need to track down all the other parts which will take time & cost more that the half cut.
you can re-use the Master cylinder and windscreen wiper from your half cut.

Make sure you pickup a GEN 3 motor, the best way to tell is the "1G" is stamped at the side / back of the motor.

    Hey kristian,

I may just be convinced to sell the 1GGTE I bought for my RA23. No time and energy for a conversion of this nature at the moment.

    message me.

You would also take a look at the 1G-FE motor & gear box from a IS200..
As they are being imported now & come with a 6 speed gear box..

When doing my homework on this 1Gxxx motor up grade here in Adelaide, i was told that with the 4 stud, & size of rotors, i could fit a motor up to 190hp, But had to go to 5 stud if over.. ( this was a general thing & may not be for all.)
    So i can fit a 1GGE,1GFE, or 1GGZE, but not the 1GGTE...

    If i didn't already have my motor & g/box, i would look at the 1G-FE & 6 speed g/box...
it all comes down to the $'s you want to spend..
I work on a budget & have to have budget hp & brakes..

    cheers
