Default Rebuilt turbo, rebuilt head, motor still smokey!

Okay, I decided to have the turbo (TO4E, centre bearing housing replaced as it turned out the journal area was corroded somewhat) rebuilt for a quick easy fix, getting f#cking sick of this motor! Put it on, went for a drive and as expected there was bulk smoke for a while until all the old oil burnt out of the exhaust then it seemed okay.
Didn't really smell, didn't noticeably (from the drivers seat) smoke out the exhaust and after leaving it idling to cool down for a while didn't smoke then either. Went out the next day to have a look and it hadn't even dropped oil from the exhaust flange where the dump meets the rest as it had been doing.
So things where looking up, I then started it to let it warm up and check it again it was good till it got warmish, (around 70deg engine temp, or hot dump pipe whichever is relevant in this instance) And the dirty fucking dogs **** started smoking again. The turbo oil feed restrictor is around 2.8 mm, too big? I'm still suss on the turbo as it sits higher than the exhaust ports I cant see any other way of oil seeping down the dump apart from the seals in the turbo its self. Maybe the oil too thin? -Castrol Edge 10-60w.
I was suss on the piston to bore clearance after I lifted the rooted head off and was cleaning up the tops of the pistons and they had lateral movement in the bores, (I had nothing to measure it but took a video on the camera that I will try to get up)
God i think I've been arse-raped over this motor!

Wet and dry comp test, +/- leak down.

I did a comp test, hot, all pretty spot on 175psi, I don't have a leak-down tester, I could make something up...

I'm getting close to cracking the shits, getting rid of it all and getting an SR20det, which, in hindsight I should have done in the first place...

2.8mm doesn't sound like much of a restrictor...what are other people running?

    http://www.toymods.net/forums/archiv...p/t-22498.html
1.5mm is a lot smaller area than 2.8mm
(2.8 is 3.5 times the area of 1.5)

It is a bush type bearing turbo, not bb, they need a decent oil supply yeah? You sure less than a 1mm will be okay? I don't want to wreck the turbo after the $850 rebuild.

Okay, I'll fit a 1.5mm restricter and measure the flow, to see if its around the 1.6 to 2 lpm, that seems to be widely regarded as right. Thanks guys
