    Default 2tgeu install help

    Hi Guys,
I finally got round to pulling out the old 2t and install the 2tgeu. That was a relatively easy exicise to do...
now i'm stuck with the wiring
I've hooked up fuel pump and all the efi lines )haven't wired it up to the relay yet)
I have the loom, ecu connected.
Now what bambosils me is where the hell do I start?
I got the diagram (which was checked and edited by electrical engineer) and I can recognise most of the stuff on there.
The thing I'd like help with is, does the 2tgeu loom "totally" replace the 2t one? eg starter, ignition, temp , oil sender.
Or do you have to "join" them together?
OR does anyone have time tmrw to come round and give me a hand
    Thanks
    David

I will be up to this stage very soon on my other 22, I've had a look at the 2T-GEU wiring diagram and from what i can see, you will still need the 2T loom to control the starter, coil/dizzy and water temp gauge, oil pressure sender etc. The 2T-GEU loom needs to be connected up to the -ve of the coil, IGN, starter and battery through 15A fuse to power up the ECU. It looks easy enough from the diagram here:

Well guys still can't get the motor to fire in the TA22
The ecu is hooked up only to come on when the ign is in the ON pos also grounded to chassis . Also when cranking there is power to it(multi meter is your friend )
The circuit open relay is hooked up to the start ign via starter motor. and has power when cranking.
oxy sensor is not on atm
oil sender and water temp sender are connected through the old loom.
there is a big resistor with four wires hooked up?(injector resistor?)
also near the resistor, there is a 2 wire plug with Cream?Black and 2little BR together.
Fuel pump is on a separate relay atm. which goes on when ign is in ON pos. ( I’ve read somewhere that its meant to be hooked up to AFM? if so can someone show me how 
Injectors go on when ign is in ON pos. They seem to be working as after a few cranks you can smell fuel, and you can feel them 'click'.
To the coil, ignitor I have BY f rom the original loom attached to one end ballast resistor along with a cream coloured one that goes into the ignitor. Then a wire from the other side of the resistor to the pos on the coil. There is 12v when ign is in ON pos.
on -tive side of the coil I have from the old loom BO? and also a B . the B goes into the ignitor.
there is also a G from the ignitor grounded/ screwed to the coil bracket which is earthed.
Now to the dizzy. There are 2 wire from the dizzy, BO and B. the BO connect to the Pink? and the B Goes to the Cream?. they both feed off into the ignitor.
Please can you guys let me know what I’m doing wrong. It’s driving me insane !!!!

The fuel pump relay should be a flip flop type (get one from the wreckers), the first trigger comes from cranking, the second trigger from the airflow meter. IIRC they are the centre two wires in the AFM plug (perhaps blue and yellow?).

I don't think that it should have a ballast resistor? The wires from the dizzy should come from the coil ignitor. I am totally ghey with wiring, but I hope that helps.
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

    off the injector resistor pack
there is the 2 pin plugout cream and BR
thanks to spectre for the borrowed pic

looking at azrael's diagram, it might possibly be fuel pump short circuit terminal...
but what would I put there?
p.s... man I wish I had a colour printer... it would have helped soooooo much

I've now got spark ......only prob is its when I go from ON pos to ACC.....
    any Ideas why its happening?
    thanks David

ok up update. Ive double checked the coil/ignitor with multimeter through all the connections. I def have 12ish power through all of them.
One Question. On the ECU, which wire pulses the signal to the coil?

It's not something other than the wiring causing it not to fire? For example the distributor isnt in 180 deg out? timing out by too much?

I turned the cap round 180, and also turned the dizzy for retard/advance and still got nothing
is there a posibility I'm grounding the coil to chassis somehow?

Check the main basics for an engine to run.

Spark - is there spark at the plugs when it needs to be
Fuel - are the injectors working/supplying enough fuel
Air - Air Flow Meter isnt jammed shut/malfunctioning (happened to me)

Do you have spark at the plugs when cranking it? - pull a plug out and with the lead attached hold it against the head/block to ground it and crank it a few times to see/hear if the spark is there (warning - insulate yourself from the plug/lead otherwise nasty shock)

The above will also let you know if the block/head isnt grounded to the body for some reason

Firing order of the leads is correct on the dizzy? 1-2-4-3 from memory (dont quote me on it)

start at the basics and work your way to the hard stuff

    Tried this an no go
def have 12v power to the coil, accross the resistor, and to ignitor ground... this is really beggining to sux balls

Has the coil got power when you are cranking? The power source should have 12V when the ignition is ON and when it is CRANKING. This should go for the fuel pump, the ECU and everything required to run the engine.
