Dont spend too much yet..... save up and then put something turbo in there once your off of your Ps.... IMHO theres not much point chasing power out of a 7MGE, especially in the A70. I think you should save up for a 1J conversion of something

Pretty much all you can do is a CAI, extractors+exhaust, tune to run on premium fuel, ie additional timing. Doing cams is just too much of an expense to even bother for the small increase.

Stay away from a BHG though, they have been known to reduce power.

is that with 2x 7Ms joined together?

they have a hard time doing that turbocharged

the only way youll get 200kw out of 1 NA is by putting the airtemp sensor from the dyno in the oxy port.

Save your money while your on restrictions and buy/build a faster engine that you can drop in once your restrictions finish. Trying to make a NA 7M go quick will burn alot of cash and not leave you with much to show.

as if... Mine (7MGTE) would have no problems pushing that at the motor, and many would do that at the wheels, between BHGs

If you can't have turbo, then you also can't have engine mods.
If you get caught with the exhaust, you're fubar, yet alone anything else in the motor you've touched.

I do feel for people getting their P's under the new rules - I guess it will force you to be more creative though.

    http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/licensing/...200707_p2.html
even says you can't drive cars with "Modifications that increase engine performance".

I think you have two options:
    1) Wait 'till you're off your P's and buy something turbo.
    2) Sell it now and find as light an NA car as you can find.

    Some ideas, sorted by budget:
0-5k: 4age in something like an old rwd corolla
    5k-10k: As above with a 3s or f20c, or an old mx5
    10-20k: Newer mx5 with mods
    20k-35k: lotus 7 replica or s2000
35-40k: early elise (most likely at the top end of this price range)
40-60k: new elise, radical sr3, westfield xtr2 (latter 2 may be hard to register)
60k+: any NA exige you can find

He might have gone to a generous dyno!!

If you want power on a small budget get some nitrous. But then you'll blow head gaskets and if you get caught by the cops your done for.

Maybe he got horsepower and kilowatts mixed up. 120HP at the wheels for a 7MGE sounds much better than 120kW atw.

And also makes 200HP much more achievable than 200kW

123kw atw is quite a bit for a 7mge with your mods. (by all means prove me wrong, not judging, just interested)

I currently have a 7mge in my cressida. Right now its manual and has a catback exhaust and pod with CAI. i have a set of hurricane headers that i will put on shortly. If i get close to 110kw atw, ill be happy. I dont plan to spend much on the 7m incase of BHG (already been through that )
