    Default brake/wheel groaning noise...

    hello

i have recently put new rotors and pads in the ma61. they are bolt on rotors- ie they bolt to the rear of the hub.

but, after heating up (either spririted braking or long drive on hot day) the front wheels begin to squeak, that speeds up and slows with wheel speed.

when i slow down a lot (ie udner 20kmh) the squeak turns from a groan.

does anyone have any ideas? there seems to be no clearance issues...

only thing i can think of is if wheel bearing grease is reacting? (used two brands - dunno if thats safe, told it was) (yes it is high temp wheel bearning grease too)

    for anyone that doesn't know:
    ma61
    ra60 front struts
    ms65 hubs
    STi 326mm rotors
    z32 calipers

    thanks for any help

Are your calipers sticking on the slide pins when you get them hot? try removing the slides and cleaning the crap off them and re greasing them.
Also you shouldnt mix two types of grease as they can react depending on the type is always best to clean and use fresh grease without overpacking bearings like most people do.

Z32 calipers are not sliding type. Have you got all the metal shims in place?

    G'Day mate,

Did you set the bearing pre-load as per the TSRM? I'd be inclined to pull the hubs of and checking the bearings...
