    Default Aristo-T70 single turbo. *pics*

Here's some pics of my mates Aristo that we have just fitted a T70 single turbo, tial gate, 550cc injectors and SAFC to.

    The car.

The turbo. It later ate the beer can.

    Wastegate.

    And screamer.

    Dump and front pipe.

    044 mounted in factory position.

Manifold off for new injectors and reg.

And back on with GTR injector dropping resistor pack(on firewall).

Stainless intake and shiny blue air/pedestrian filter.

Goes to the dyno on Saturday for SAFC tweaking and as much boost as the injectors will allow.

Not really, it has a very small exhaust housing(.68) and got 1 bar at 3200 before I fiddled with the boost controller to slow it down. I think the turbo is a bit mismatched(92mm compressor and TO4 exhaust wheel with very small A/R) but time will tell

Hmm, actually powercurve will prolly look like above but it is still perfectly driveable, it makes useable boost in the high 2k's driving around with the boost controller off. 2JZ's are very torquey off boost anyway so drivability doesn't really suffer regardless.

    So you've fitted bigger injectors?
If that is the case, using an SAFC to tune it probably isn't the wisest choice. Think of how much your going to have to lie to the factory computer (try to access a really low load point that might not even exsist) just to get resonable low load AFRs, and then think what it will do to your igntion timing, especially in the mid range as the engine just starts coming on boost .
You may well have a situation where you could have a choice between way too rich but suitable igntion timing or decent AFRs and unsuitable (to much advance ) igntion timing.

That may be the case in some vehicles but in the case of 1 and 2J's they are fine, at least with injectors this size anyway. It has been done many times with no problems and good results. A mate has a low 11 sec 2JZ R31 and his mate has an 11.2 second Aristo!!, both run the same setup and have for quite a while.

It may not be ideal but it is effective, safe and cheap.

Just spoke to the owner Mark and he said it made 397hp atw at 19 psi with 10:1 afr's. He wanted to keep adding boost until the AFR's were in the high 11's but the dyno guru said it was a stock engine and it couldn't handle more boost. Evidently he is used to working on Datto's not JZ's.
The air inlet was also heavily restricted by the lack of mandrel bends among other power robbing problems that weren't related to it not actually being tuned to make power.

    Good start anyhoo.

Did you find out if you can buy that heatshielding off the truck that you put over the exhaust separately?

Not yet, it's on the remember to do list. We only think of it when we do one of these and then forget about it afterwards. If it is reasonably priced we will order a load of them in, it's good shit.

300RWkW is dam good.and best of all you'd have removed that dogey torque hole just before the second turbo spools up. This'll deffinity make the luxo barge more frisky.

I'd have to say though, Masterpower isn't really a wise choice in turbo's...
