may be a stupid question but worth it if they are better than ryco ones. ryco code is z10 if that helps in any way

    the 3rd type should fit.

Toyota have superceeded the 2T oil filter to a 90915-YZZD2 now and this is equivalent to it.

I wouldn't bother paying the extra for the TRD oil filter, just use the genuine toyota filter. I can almost guarantee the TRD one is just a different paint on the casing from the normal genuine filter.

actually they are completly different inside.

they are excellent filters, i used them on my ae101, was a definite increase in the time needed before the oil was black.
in saying that for your normal road car the genuine in fine.
i tend to recommend the TRD filter for engines with a high volume/pressure oil system.

I stand corrected. So they aren't just for bling factor. Who makes them (as TRD hardly does them themselves)? Denso?

The current Denso Toyota ones are made in Thailand...must be that the higher quality ones are still mad in Japan.

What are the TRD ones for the A Series motors worth?

$40 for an oil filter...what a rip off - just buy 4 toyota filters and change the filter every 2000kms and you'll be WAY in front.

the genuine filters we get here are made in japan.

yes that filter will fit a 2T fine
cant comment on the oil as castrol dropped the GTX and GTX2 names here years ago

$40aud is a rip. they are $35nz here.
not a rip for the applications they are made for

my engine is meant to have been worked for rally before i got it with a bigger port job, i have also taken the spacers out of the solex carbs and they are 48mm (from 40mm) at the filter end. it goes to 7000rpm without complaints and doesnt smoke, although it is burnin the crappy oil thats in it up. if its gonna do revs like that wouldn't a good filter be the way to go???? i mean i've only spent about $3000 on it and its on the road and registered the least i could do is put a good filter and good oil in it
