    Default st162 wheel bearing/stub axle

im replacing my wheel bearings in the front because one is totally gone when the wheel was one the car and i jacked it up i could move the wheel fowerd back up and down about 5mm each way, so i gather its the wheel bearing ive got the driveshafts out etc etc, i go to take the hub off and i thought id have a shot at it on the car haha, but thats besides the point so i gave the stub axle a hit and it just came off it was lose, so im wondering why this is, is it because the bearings are stuffed and they assist holding it on or do i have bigger trouble

also the other side is tight like it is supost to be, has to be pressed off

so is the hub its self stuffed or was it just because of the bearings being stuffed?

    thanks

Sorry to say this, but you're going to be the first person on this new forum to cop the "Do a search first" treatment

If you had've done that, you would've found this thread in the Tech FAQ:

Checking front wheel bearings on cars with front driveshafts
