Bit of an update on this thing. The wastegate was too small for it(ebay 40mm). It would hit 1 bar and open the gate and then boost would slowly climb as the revs climbed. We got another ebay special(actually just jap) but this time a 60mm unit. It's 6omm in and 50 out so I think there sizing system needs review. It's big anyway.
The other thing that needed attention was the back half of the exhaust, we pretty well banged it together in a hurry to get to powercruise(I was really drunk at the time too ) and it hung a bit low for my liking. So we redid it post dump pipe and also plumbed the new gate in. Getting 95mm pipe to have good ground clearance on a 22 year old car is no mean feat but I reckon we have it sorted, just requires a heap more sections of bend to follow the contours of the floor and diff cradle. Pics.

haven't finished welding it yet but you get the idea. Also gave it a little dumpy tip rotor style, suits it I reckon.

Time to drag up an old thread!!

Went to mates workshop tonight to put the car on the dyno to try & sort out speed cut issue. Ended up sorting it out and on one of the runs under load it ran 506hp at 23psi!!!! So i got a little excited and we strapped it down harder on the rollers and added some more boosts! result as below. I was VERY surprised (& happy) with the outcome. With convertor lock up issue & speed cut sorted i'mm off to the drags again to see if 10's are on the cards.

haha this thing is mental! that power curve is psycho ><

what benefits do you get from the GTR diff conversion? Or did you just do it cause it was there? Im assuming they're stronger than the F-series but was it worth the extra effort?

Don't think i'll be at P/cruise this year, missus giving birth to our latest bub in 6 weeks so she probably won't like me pissing off for the whole weekend so close to birth!!! Only mods are 550cc Sard injectors, Apexi SAFC to control boost cut and injectors, E-Boost 2, Trust T78 turbo & 95mm exhaust. Internals are stock(2J's are the shiz!!) Auto is built by MV Automatics aswell. Running 98 pump fuel.

Pretty much what you said, we had the diff & it has a 2-way LSD centre so we thought the 9" grinder & MIG needed a workout!! Skyline diffs are good as there is alot of aftermarket centres available through importers due to the fact that Skylines are like bumholes in Japan!! I know a few people that used F series with big HP JZ's & have had numerous failures.
