got a banjo-banjo flexible line off a AE112 corolla today.

i also picked up the throttle cable and installed it.

the cable does about 3 laps of the engine before it connects to the TB

Wilbo, Brett is the ultimate cheapskate (has to be... hes a uni bum ) so stuffing around is required to find the cheapest solution. Looking good Brett, you gonna have it going for when I get there on Thursday Oh, and my 28 is just a couple of hours waiting in line away from being registered

Don't get me wrong I've been there (I put the JZA61 together while I was going through uni ), that's why my z12 is a little different. While I didn't cut any corner per say on the JZA61, it really was done to a budget!

The z12 I'm doing....trying to not make it quite so budget like lol

On a side note, nothing wrong with brett's solution at all! I'd do it too if I had an oxy

It's a rubber insulator used in lieu of a universal joint, for NVH reasons I believe. Most modern Toyotas use this setup.

hey ppl just some VERY useful info that rubber donut can be removed and a slip on yoke can be used from a hilux. It ll take you a while to find one but it does work and makes things alot easier. This is a way we tackled 1uz into mx83.

Yeah but the spline engagement length is way shorter than the normal auto...

As per the pic posted earlier

Looks like a standard W58 shaft spline, but just over half the length... Not ideal for a 2JZGTE...

layed out all the radiators i had and have come up with something that should work.

consists of; MX73 radiator, MX83 shroud and JZA70 hydro fan. clearance seems about similar to the JZX81 setup. the shroud i got is cracked so i just hacked it up roughly (non reusable).

i just need to find a non cracked MX83 shroud and mount the hydro fan

on the plus side, the MX83 shroud can also house a smaller (approx 6") electric fan

i did get an aristo radiator with the engine but its waaaaay too big

in between working over the weekend i got some time in with the car.

i was mock fitting all the heat exchangers.... and there is quite a few

one thing im thinking of doing is feeding the power steering rack outlet and the hydraulic fan outlet through the one cooler. in simple terms, a T piece on either end of the oil cooler. it would still use 2 reservoirs, 2 pumps however just one cooler. whether this works im not sure as there may be problems with one reservoir syphening into the other.

the other option is to feed the hydro fan oil through the MX73 trans cooling line in the bottom radiator tank. there may be a problem with this also as thee hose size is much smaller. i dont want create pressure between the hydraulic motor and the cooler.

the oil coolers in the pics are MS123 trans coolers.

the power steering reservoir can be seen where the factory coil was and the hydro fan resevoir can be seen behind the drivers side headlight.

the intercooler piping will be going through the power steering line hole in the front apron on the driver side. on the passenger side it will go through the triangular hole. the plan is to keep the IC very concealed and no visual mods to the bumper if possible

its amazing how much room there actually is in a MZ12 engine bay.

Just get a couple of small transmission coolers and side-mount them (ie under the headlights), that's what I've done for my P/S cooler. You can buy them at any auto parts store and they're cheap.

MS123 oil coolers are free so i probably stick with them

they are decent size (refer pic) and have barbed fittings

free is good - but the supacrap ones are not as wide and usually have mounting flanges all along two sides making mounting them a little easier. The cheapo one i got had barbed fittings - it was some generic brand designed or auto-trans cooling.

not as wide = worse cooling efficiency

the crown cooler also has 2 mounting flanges on either side
