Is the fan running at max speed all the time? Maybe it's loading the engine up too much?

the missing problem has gone away when i started using a mates ecu. i borrowed the ecu 2 days before i went to cairns and it didnt miss a beat the whole way. I racked up 900 odd km in total.

ive since bought a supra ECU which hasnt arrived yet

the gearbox is still going okay...

i still have cooling issues though. a short while ago the hydrofan blade exploded and took out the MX73 radiator. i reinstalled the factory copper-tank Z12 radiator for the time being and it seems to show the same symptoms. i also tried relocating the number plate for the trip and installing extensive underbody sheilding to help air flow. it didnt seem to do much however

most of the time its fine, the temp will sit where its supposed to. when the aircon has been on for a few minutes it seems to just tip the cooling system over the edge and the temp goes up.

i also installed a stock MA61 3.909 LSD diff. its interesting to note the input pinion flange was different to the supra. i suspect it was a G series pattern.

    thats about it i guess
out of interest did you just change the yokes over between the 2 diffs to get the g series yoke onto the f series diff?

yep its running at full speed the whole time. the relative load on the enging is stuff all. less then the AC compressor kicking in at least

took it out the drags last night....

    13.3@106

thats with the exhaust disconnected behind the cat and 16psi. it was pretty hot so everything in the engine bay was untouchable. there was also light rain on and off.

the 2j is so torquey it starts spinning the rear tyres at about 1800rpm so its hard to stall it up.

Turn off your brake locker and stop holding the front wheels still and you might get better traction

Get a 5" monster tacho and dual shift lights and you will knock 3 seconds off that time!!

    hey nice job,

i run the au thermos on full time; there is no switch and they have run fine for the past year.

the only problem is that the temp goes us (factory temp guage) with air con on and driving up a big hill in hot weather.

i have no underbody tray and they thermo fan shroud has big gaps around where it attaches to the radiator, but this would only cause a problem at low speeds as 'ram air' would be doing all the cooling above 30-40kph.

i also had a custom power steering line made up, (200 bucks).

also have noticed my dump pies have cracked at the flange, it looks kind of like yours, the pipes have to swist 90 degrees to make it past the steering.

i suspect that there needs to be a supporting bracket to the engine as the 3 flange bolts are the only thing holding it on until it joins to the cat which it attached to that stock rubber exhaust mount under the car.

once it if repaired i am going to heat wrap it to try and get some heat out of the engine bay, also installing a proper air box so my pod doesnt suck up the heat from the engine bay.

    i know i know.

if someone would have recorded my skid then it would have made up for it.

the speedo read 180km/h for a couple seconds i think the Z12 cluster only reads to 180 so the wheels may have been going quicker.
