Pretty hard to take a video of myself driving. I'll see what I can arrange when I next go to the drags.

Time for me to spoon feed teh Norbie....

My nifty little thread on alternators. Just the basics, but you get the idea

Thanks for the info, but I already gave up and sent the alternator away to be rebuilt. $275 later and it's good as new.

just don't do what Simon did with the GTA22 and hook the battery backwards in the dark (kids had stolen his torch)... 10 seconds later he had to pay more $$ to rebuild the rebuilt alternator...

    doh.

Yes I'll try to avoid that. Although I do recall one occasion where the positive battery lead came adrift while I was driving (boot mounted battery), it was at night so all my lights went out and the engine stopped, and I was immediately blinded by a fireworks show in the back of the car. Since then I've been somewhat paranoid about battery connections!

Yeah im similarly paranoid about battery connections after my battery terminal came loose whilst i was tuning my Megasquirt..... it corrupted the file and filled my engine with petrol (fuel pump running and injectors 100% open full-time).

So have you at least got some pics of the new look engine bay?

I'm not exactly happy with the filter location, but there are no options to move it - unless I have a filter sticking out of the bonnet?

    Old-school V8 style

it looks like you could get a bit of CAI ducting in there, if you so desired.

Looks the good mate, it will scare the absolute bejesus out of you. You really need one of those shit/urine proof seat covers for the passenger (Our organisation has them on all cars, I can give you a supplier if you want )

Rotate comp housing 90 degrees clockwise, redo intercooler piping and make intake running to behind the headlight. Job done.

    Cheers
