    Linden's in the process of fitting a G series from a GX71 into his MZ10, a few minor alterations required to the cradle (front two top bolt holes dont line up, but the other 6 do) but looks like a pretty good option.... If you can find one

    bzzzzzzt,
    the gx71 is a pita, the front 4 bolts on the nose go in and the 2 that go to the rear mount fit also.
    the prob is the crossmember needs to be cut to fit the midsection of the diff in as its 15mm wider + taller where the middle 4 bolts go into the case.
    it wont be hard to fix but its still annoying.

    ahhh hens teeth, i think ive got some of those lying around if anyone needs some .

    cheers

    Hmmm if it's necessary to cut and shut the crossmember it's probably not much harder to go A series.

    * watching and waiting *

    Good to see you've stepped out of one modification hole and straight into another [deeper] hole. Nice job Norbie

    I watched my car drive away on the back of a tilt tray this morning... such a familiar sight. This time it's going to the exhaust shop though; turbo and manifold is all bolted up, I just need a dump pipe and wastegate sorted out. Provided there are no major disasters I should be driving it home from the shop this afternoon - although the BOV and wastegate lines aren't hooked up so there will be no opportunity to get in on boost - yet. Watch this space.

    Oh and I forgot to take photos of my hilarious temporary dump pipe so I could drive it out of the garage and onto the truck. Imagine a 90 degree stainless bend, held in place with bolts and washers, and pointing straight up. Good times!

    The next post does not contain good news - the exhaust shop has informed me the job won't be done until Monday. No skids for me this weekend!

    There's no rule against V12 skids.

    As I learnt in Dubbo when I couldn't even see the lights on the tree

    Actually I guess there may be a rule against it but I suspect it's just as much against 2j + Gt35 skids.

    Car is back in my garage after a 10 minute drive from the exhaust shop. No leaks, no fire, no tragedy of any kind - I call that a win! Wastegate and BOV lines weren't hooked up so I was careful not to get it on boost, but it drove fine as it was. Sounds pretty tough too.

    I'll finish it off on the weekend, just gotta buy a few hoses and fittings and it's good to go. It will take a while for my wallet to recover though, with all the screwing around the exhaust guy had to do the bill came to $650.

    Oh well big single conversions are never cheap. At least the hard stuff is done! Coming soon: skids.
