    Default Aftermarket Digital Odometer

    Just an idea i'm toying with. Is it possible to get an aftermarket digital odometer? I've done a quick check around, and not come up with anything.

    Thoughts? Ideas? Leads?

    Cheers,
    Nathan

    I haven't seen any on my travels. Closest I know of is this MoTeC unit;

    This has lap logging.

    I think a digital odometer would be too easy for people to 'wind back' if it was offered as an aftermarket option?

    Perhaps you could adapt a late model commodore digitial odometer system if you could isolate it from the ECU.

    There is a company in the US that does Digital gauges. they have a Odometer as part of a cluster but I havent looked recently to see what they have in individual guages.

    All of the ones i've come across to date are part of a speedo. I personally want to retain my factory speedo, but want to get a digital odometer.

    I understand the implications of people swapping out odometers, which is why I'm thinking they're so hard to come by.

    Ze Motec is nice, but a bit full-on for what I need

    Do any late model toyotas come with one? Like an Altezza for example?

    May be able to get one off a prestige wreckers or something along those lines.

    Cheers guys, but it's kinda out of the scope of what I wanna do. I'm keeping the factory dash, but am going to try and convert it to a digital sender so I can run a speedo corrector, but that is going to prevent my odometer and trip meter from working, which is why I was looking for an odometer just by itself.

    um you know i don't reckon it would be too hard for me to build one, simply count each pulse of the RPM line to the ECU and add 1 to the counter at the aproperiate time. I reckon i could knock one up...
